We are looking for a Principal Solution Architect who can set the architectural direction for GTT Marine’s Insights Platform – a cloud-based platform where large volumes of maritime data are transformed into digital solutions, analytics and operational insights.
You will take ownership of the overall software architecture and become a central driving force in the consolidation of existing products, technologies and development environments. You will create alignment across software, cloud and data and ensure that the technical roadmap is defined and translated into clear architectural choices.
As Principal Solution Architect, you will become a central sparring partner for tech leads, developers, data scientists and management and will have an important role in driving the architectural direction across the organisation. The role requires both strong architectural expertise and strong stakeholder management skills, enabling you to create alignment, set direction and bring the organisation with you.
Your profile
You have a strong technical and architectural background and experience with complex software environments. You understand both software craftsmanship and the architectural principles behind modern cloud and data platforms.
You will not implement the solutions yourself, but your technical understanding must be strong enough for you to assess how the architecture is realised in practice, challenge technical choices and be a qualified sparring partner for the organisation’s technical profiles.
At the same time, you are able to set a clear direction and create commitment. You are curious about existing solutions and decisions and combine respect for what has already been built with the ability to challenge and drive change.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Owning and driving the overall software architecture across products and platforms
- Driving the technological and architectural consolidation across products and solutions
- Creating coherence between software architecture, cloud and data
- Defining common architectural principles and ensuring that they are translated into practice
- Creating alignment around technical decisions across key stakeholders
Qualifications
To succeed in the role, you have many years of experience with software architecture and complex technological environments. You can combine technical depth with a broader perspective and understand how architectural decisions affect both products, people and the business.
In addition, you have the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience within software development, architecture and technical leadership
- Solid experience with software and solution architecture in complex cloud-based environments
- Strong understanding of data-intensive platforms, data flows and handling large volumes of data
- Understanding of the interplay between software, cloud, data, analytics and AI
- Experience with modern cloud technologies and preferably Azure and Kubernetes
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A pragmatic, fact-based and open-minded approach as well as the ability to set direction and create commitment
It will be an advantage if you have experience from a technical transformation, merger or consolidation, where different products, technologies and architectures had to be brought together and moved in a common direction.
